UMCH is officially listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS), which makes our graduates eligible to sit the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and pursue medical licensure across the US and Canada — alongside full recognition throughout the European Union, the EEA, and the United Kingdom.
Nearly 80 years of medical teaching
UMCH is the only Western European campus of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Târgu Mureș (founded 1945) — bringing its established curriculum, faculty network and clinical partnerships to Germany, entirely in English.
From the third year onward, students rotate across 12 partner teaching hospitals in Germany — including Protestant Hospital Mettmann and St. Josef Hospital Moers — with exchange opportunities through a 91-institution network across Italy, Austria, Turkey and beyond.
