🎓 Study Medicine or Dentistry at UPJŠ Košice
The Faculty of Medicine at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University (UPJŠ) offers internationally recognised study programs in General Medicine and Dental Medicine, both taught entirely in English.

The Faculty of Medicine offers two English-taught programs:
General Medicine
Dental Medicine

🩺 General Medicine (MUDr.)
Duration: 6 years (12 semesters)
The program prepares students for a career as a medical doctor. Students study:
Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and other pre-clinical sciences
Pathology, pharmacology and clinical medicine
Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Preventive medicine and patient care
Students receive extensive clinical training in university hospitals and affiliated healthcare institutions.

🦷 Dental Medicine (DMD)
Duration: 5 years
The Dental Medicine program places strong emphasis on clinical and practical training, allowing students to develop the skills necessary to perform dental procedures independently after graduation.
Due to the intensive clinical training, the number of accepted students is limited to approximately 35 students per year.

Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)

🏥 Clinical Training
During their studies, medical and dental students gain practical experience in university hospitals and clinical departments affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine.
Clinical training includes:
Patient examinations and diagnostics
Clinical case discussions
Hospital rotations in multiple specialties
Supervised practical procedures
This hands-on training ensures graduates are well prepared for real medical and dental practice.
🧪 Admission Process
Admission is based entirely on an entrance examination in Biology and Chemistry.
The exam consists of:
100 Biology questions
100 Chemistry questions
📊 Total questions: 200
⏱️ Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
Each question is worth up to 4 points, with a maximum score of 800 points.
There are no minus points for incorrect answers.
🥅 Required Score for Admission
Applicants must achieve at least 570 points out of 800.
Students scoring 570 or more are admitted.
Those with slightly lower scores may be placed on a waiting list depending on availability.
Results are usually available within 3–4 working days.
