The UPJŠ entrance exam
Pavol Jozef Šafárik University admits with one written exam in biology and chemistry — your exam route to study Medicine or Dentistry in Slovakia, in English. Every possible question is in our free flashcards.
Study the real questions from the UPJŠ entrance exam
Nothing new turns up on exam day. The paper comes from an official set of 600 biology and 600 chemistry questions, and every single one of them is already in Medently Flashcards.
We built it on spaced repetition, the way your brain actually holds on to things. Our own years in medical and dental school taught us this is the method that works, and everything we learned the hard way is already in here. It is your first taste of studying the way a medical student does.

The things students ask us most
What is on the UPJŠ entrance exam?
Biology and chemistry only — 200 multiple-choice questions (100 in each subject) over 2 hours 30 minutes, written in person in Košice. Each question has options A to D, and anywhere from zero to all four can be correct.
What score do I need?
Out of 800 points, recent admission levels have been around 570 for Medicine and around 620 for Dentistry. Well-prepared students reach them routinely — and the preparation is exactly what we give you, free.
What grades do I need?
None. You need a completed high-school diploma that qualifies you for university at home (vitnemål, A-Levels, IB or equivalent) — no science subjects and no minimum grades. The exam decides.
Do I need IELTS or TOEFL?
You need proof that you can study in English, and we guide you through which documents count for your case — for most students their school documents are enough.
Where and when is the exam?
In person in Košice. The last 2026 sitting is 5 September. The university's own registration for it closed on 22 August, but we can often still get a student onto the list, so ask us rather than assume you are too late. We register you and help you plan the trip.
What does it cost?
The exam fee is €30, paid to UPJŠ. Medently's guidance, flashcards and mock exams are free.
How do I prepare?
The exam is drawn from an official set of 600 biology and 600 chemistry questions — and Medently Flashcards is that exact set, with spaced repetition and mock exams built in. No surprise questions.
What if I do not pass?
You can sit it once per programme per year — and many students apply to both Medicine and Dentistry, which doubles the chances with the same preparation.
