Your UPJŠ entranceexam result

One written paper decides admission to Pavol Jozef Šafárik University, and it is marked out of 800. This page explains what the number means, when it arrives, and exactly what happens next in every outcome, including the ones nobody wants to read about.

Exactly 570 is a pass for medicine. There is no interview and no grade average on top of it.

Reading the decision

Four things a result
can actually say

Most students expect a pass or a fail and are thrown when they get something else. There are four real outcomes, and three of them still lead somewhere this year.

Passed

You are in

You met the mark for the programme you sat. The place is yours to accept, and the next thing that happens is enrolment paperwork, not another exam. If you applied through us, we chase the faculty for the written confirmation and walk you through enrolment day.

Waiting list

Close, and still live

You scored under the line but near it, so the faculty holds your name while accepted candidates confirm or drop out. Places really do move here. It is not a polite no, and it is worth keeping your documents ready while it plays out.

Not passed

A number, not a verdict

You can sit the exam again at the next sitting. Most students who retake do better the second time, because the format stops being a surprise. Nothing about the first attempt is held against the second.

Absent

Nothing is lost

Missing a sitting does not close the door or count as a fail. You register for the next date and go again. Tell us as early as you can and we handle the re-registration.

From paper to place

How a score becomesa university place

Exam day

You sit the paper

Biology and chemistry, in English, two hours thirty minutes, in person in Košice. Papers are collected and marked centrally by the faculty.

Shortly after

The score arrives

UPJŠ scores the paper out of 800 and publishes candidate results. This is quick, not a months-long wait. Students who applied through Medently hear from us as soon as we have anything.

Then

The place is confirmed

A pass turns into a written decision from the faculty, followed by enrolment. From here it is documents and dates, and we do that part with you.

Your own result

Looking for your personal score?

Individual results are never published on a public page. Sign in to the Medently portal with your own credentials and yours is there. If you sat one of our organised sittings, the login from your exam sheet works too. If anything is missing, message us and a real person checks it against the faculty list with you.

Private to you. Nothing about any student is readable in this page.
If the number was not enough

Three routes thatare still open

A score below the line closes one door on one day. It does not close the year. Every autumn we place students who did not pass their first sitting, and none of these routes costs you anything with us.

We will tell you honestly which of these fits your actual score rather than pushing you at whichever is easiest to arrange. If the honest answer is to wait, we say that too.
01

Sit the next UPJŠ exam

The university has confirmed one more sitting this year, on 5 September 2026 in Košice, and students who pass it start the same autumn. Retaking is normal and it is by far the most common route after a near miss.

02

Take your score somewhere it already qualifies

A result under the UPJŠ line is not under everyone's line. Several universities we work with admit on a different basis entirely, and some run their own September sittings. We look at your actual score and tell you honestly where it is enough.

03

Start elsewhere and transfer in later

Students transfer into UPJŠ every year with credit for what they have already passed. If you begin a medical degree somewhere else this autumn, that door stays open rather than closing behind you.

Questions we get every sitting

UPJŠ results,answered plainly

When do UPJŠ entrance exam results come out?

Soon after the sitting rather than months later. UPJŠ marks the paper centrally and publishes candidate results, and students who registered through Medently get told by us as soon as the faculty releases anything. If you sat the exam with us and want your own result, sign in to the Medently portal or message us and we will look it up with you.

What score do I need to pass the UPJŠ entrance exam?

The paper is marked out of 800. General Medicine needs 570 and Dental Medicine needs 620. A score of exactly 570 is a pass for medicine, not a miss. There is no interview and no separate grade requirement, so this single number decides admission.

How do I check my UPJŠ result?

Sign in to the Medently student portal, or if you sat one of our organised sittings use the results page with the credentials from your exam sheet. Your result is only readable with your own login. If anything looks wrong or missing, message us and a real person will check it against the faculty's list.

I did not pass. Can I take the UPJŠ entrance exam again?

Yes. Retaking is completely normal and nothing from the first attempt carries over against you. UPJŠ has confirmed a further sitting on 5 September 2026 in Košice, and students who pass it start this autumn. We re-register you and give you the preparation material again at no cost.

What does a waiting list result mean at UPJŠ?

It means you scored near the line and the faculty is holding your name while accepted candidates confirm their places. Movement genuinely happens. Keep your documents ready, and let us follow it up with the faculty on your behalf rather than waiting in silence.

Does Medently charge for any of this?

No. Checking your result, re-registering you for another sitting, the preparation material and the whole application are free for students. We are paid by the universities we work with, never by you.

Pass marks and exam format are the figures Medently works to with Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, checked against the current sitting. Universities set and can revise their own thresholds, so treat this page as our working guide rather than a university publication, and ask us if you need the position in writing for a specific date.
