The universities charge their own fees, and we do not. Every university has an application or exam fee of its own, so applying to five of them costs five times over and splits your revision five ways. We would rather work out which one you actually want, put you in for that one, and have you walk in prepared for it.
If you are not applying through us, there is a price. We would genuinely rather it were free for everyone, but we are paying for this every month and giving it to every applicant already. Opening it to everyone is more than we can carry.

Spaced repetition puts them in long-term memory
Every card you answer gets a date to come back on, worked out from how well you actually did on it. Cards you keep losing come back in a day or two, cards you know go quiet for weeks. Twelve hundred questions is far too many to cram, and this is the method that makes it possible.

What the UPJŠ entrance exam actually looks like
Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice admits with one written exam. Pass it and you have your place on Medicine or Dentistry, taught in English, in Slovakia.
Why it is not free for everyone
Someone had to sit down and type out all 1,200 questions, check every answer and sort them into topics. That took months, and it is the part nobody else has.
Then it costs money every single month to keep it alive: the servers that hold every student's progress, the storage behind them, the hosting, and the hours that go into fixing what breaks. This is not finished software sitting on a shelf. We keep the set current as the exam changes, we fix what students report, and we keep adding to it.
And we keep it built around how people actually learn. Spaced repetition is not a gimmick — it is one of the most studied ideas in learning research, and it is what medical students lean on to hold thousands of facts through six years. It is the method our own team used. Working this way now does two jobs at once: it gets the question set into long-term memory, and it gets you used to how studying in medicine really feels before you have started.
So this is not a fee dressed up as something else. Medently is free and stays free. It is just that if we are not the ones helping you apply, one payment is what makes it possible to keep the door open for the students we are.

What is on the UPJŠ entrance exam?
Biology and chemistry only, 200 multiple-choice questions with 100 in each subject, over 2 hours 30 minutes. It is written and sat in person in Košice, and there is no interview.

What score do I need to pass?
In recent years a place in Medicine has taken roughly 570 out of 800, and Dentistry around 620. It is competitive rather than a fixed pass mark, so the target moves a little each year.
How long does it take to learn 1,200 questions?
Students who start two to three months out and do a short session most days get through comfortably. Spaced repetition is what makes that number manageable at all.
