- 🇳🇴 Norwegian students — vitnemål with a 4.0 average and at least 4 in the sciences, including Biology plus one more science.
- 🇬🇧 UK students — ABB at A-Level including Biology and one more science, plus one further subject. GCSE English at grade 5 covers the English requirement.
- 🌍 International students — a high-school certificate around the 90% level with Biology and one more science. Other systems are assessed case by case, and we check yours with UNIC the same day.
- Proof of English — IELTS 6.5 (with 6.5 in writing), TOEFL iBT 79, or IB SL English 5. Native speakers from the UK, Ireland, the US, Australia and New Zealand are exempt.
- A short online interview — recorded from home. We run a practice round with you first.

About the University of Nicosia Medical School
The University of Nicosia Medical School is one of the largest medical schools in the Mediterranean region, teaching entirely in English to students from around 90 countries. Its 6-year undergraduate-entry MD is built for school leavers: three pre-clinical years of Health and Disease, a transitional research year, and two full clinical years.
The school is purpose-built for medical teaching — its own Anatomy Centre, clinical-skills and simulation suites, and the University of Nicosia Medical Centre, a teaching clinic where students see real patients under supervision. A Mobile Clinic takes students and doctors out into the community.

Admission requirements for Norwegian and international students
For a Norwegian vitnemål, UNIC's requirement is concrete: a minimum overall average of 4.0, and at least 4.0 in the science subjects — which must include Biology plus one more science such as Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics. UK applicants need ABB at A-level including Biology and one more science; IB applicants need 32 points with 16 at Higher Level.
English is proven with IELTS 6.5 (with 6.5 in writing and at least 6.0 elsewhere), TOEFL iBT 79, GCSE English grade 5, or IB Standard Level English 5. Native speakers from the UK, Ireland, the US, Australia and New Zealand are exempt. If your subjects or grades sit outside these patterns, UNIC assesses your file individually — send it to us and we check it with them for you.
The application process, step by step
Applications go through UNIC's own online portal, with an admissions advisor guiding the document list — and Medently at your side for every upload, letter and payment. Qualified applicants are invited to a short online interview, recorded from home; it looks at your motivation and your understanding of what studying medicine asks of you, and we run a practice round with you before the real thing.
Offers follow the interview, and admission runs on a rolling basis until the places are filled. The next start is September, and need-based scholarships of up to 20% of tuition can be applied for once you hold an offer.
